Netgear needs to either fix the issues with their cameras or stop selling the cameras. I have no intention on climbing on a step ladder every night to open and close the battery doors of all of my cameras. My cameras are mounted about 9 feet off of the floor. Consumers being required to open and shut the battery door every night to get night vision to work is absolutely unacceptable. Netgear advertises these cameras as having night vision. The cameras are either offline or the night vision doesn't work. My main issues with these cameras are they don't work. Netgear can start resolving issues with its cameras by first enabling consumers to enter the model number in the space provided for the model number. First even though I have a model VMS3430, I cannot even enter this model number in the space above for entering the model.

Step 3: Attempt to use a Third Party DDNS such as No-IP to test and see if this works as a solution.I am very disappointed with these cameras. Step 2: Reboot the camera or NVR system and router then check the status of the system again in a few minutes. Make sure to click the Save button to save the change to the device’s memory.

Login to the camera or NVR and navigate to the IP Configuration (HD Cameras) or Basic Network Settings (SD Cameras) and change the setting. The reason for this is that the DDNS is not synchronized to the external IP address. The errors generated will either be “Failed” or “Error in Network Communication.”

In this scenario, remote access has been setup correctly and DDNS is still not showing as successful on the camera or the NVR status page. This is so the DDNS can synchronize with your external IP address. Overview: To access a Foscam camera or NVR system remotely with DDNS a port MUST be opened to enable DDNS.
